  • Surety and guarantee instruments that protect against default on construction contracts, duty and customs obligations, and goods in bond.

    Construction Bonds
    types of surety bonds used by stakeholders in construction projects to protect against disruptions or financial loss due to unforeseen failures to complete projects or to meet contract specifications.
    Advance Payment Bond
    taken when a client agrees to make an advance or down payment to a supplier, to secure the payment against default by the contractor.
    Performance Bond
    a surety bond issued to guarantee satisfactory completion of a project by a contractor.
    Bid Bond
    issued as part of a supply bidding process by the contractor to the project owner, to guarantee that the winning bidder will undertake the contract under the terms at which they bid.
    Retention in Lieu Bond
    protects the customer after a job is finished by guaranteeing that the contractor will carry out all necessary work to correct structural or other defects discovered immediately after completion, even if full payment has already been made.
    ZIMRA Bonds
    surety and guarantee bonds that ensure protection against unforeseen failures to honour duty obligations.
    Agents Bond
    a good will bond required by ZIMRA, a guarantee given to a forwarding and clearing agent who handles goods on behalf of other companies, called up on any default of duty payment.
    Application for Temporary Importation Privileges (ATIP) Bond
    a guarantee lodged against the exceptional importation of goods that must return to the country of origin in the same state, for example special equipment hired from outside Zimbabwe for a once off project.
    Removals and Transit (RIT/RIB) Bond
    guarantees for imported goods destined for another country, passing through the borders of Zimbabwe without payment of duty.
    Warehouse Bond
    guarantees that apply to a bonded warehouse, which could be a building, an installation or an area licensed to store goods without payment of duty.

    Sub products
    Road Traffic Act (RTA) or Third Party
    compulsory cover that meets the statutory requirement (Road Act 12:11 section 22 subsection 1) of using public roads, covering the insured against legal liability to third parties for damage to their property, death or bodily injury up to a statutory limit.
    Full Third Party
    an extension of Third Party with increased limits of liability against legal liability to third parties for damage to their property, death or bodily injury.
    Full Third Party (Fire and Theft)
    a further extension of Third Party that adds cover against any damage or loss caused by fire, theft or attempted theft to the insured's vehicle.
    Comprehensive or Full Cover
    covers loss or damage to the client's vehicle, theft of accessories or the whole vehicle, fire, and liability to third parties, along with medical expenses, litigation costs and towing charges.
    Motor Fleet
    offered to any entity that has 15 or more vehicles of one or more types.
    Motor Traders Combined
    covers motor service or repair outlets against unforeseen damage to third party vehicles while in the custody of the outlet.
    Excess Buy Back
    an extension for any insured who holds a comprehensive motor policy, taken for an additional premium to expunge the excesses that are inevitable with all claims.

    Machinery Breakdown and Loss of Profits
    safeguards against the loss of profit where an entity suffers business interruption due to unforeseen and sudden physical loss or damage to machinery declared on the policy schedule.
    Plant All Risks
    cover for plant and machinery against unforeseen physical loss or damage arising from perils that are not specifically excluded from the primary cover.
    Contractors All Risk
    cover for both damage to property and third party injury or damage claims, safeguarding against the primary risks consistent with most construction projects.
    Erection All Risks
    designed to cover the risk of loss arising out of the erection and installation of machinery, plant and steel structures, including physical damage to the contract works and liability for third party bodily injury or property damage.

    encompasses Home Owners Cover (buildings and other semi attached structures such as durawall, gazebos, boreholes and the electric gate motor), House Holders (all house contents such as fridges, sofas, television sets, stoves, beds and wardrobes) and Domestic All Risks (a secondary policy for personal items such as jewellery, cell phones and laptops).
    Business Combined
    a policy taken to cover a particular business premise, with sub policies including Money, Burglary, Glass, Public Liability, Consequential Loss, Accounts Receivable and Fire, the All Risks extending to cover Material Damage and Fire.
    Assets All Risks
    an extension of Business Combined that reaches multiple premises, and also covers employees' personal effects.
    Office Comprehensive
    cover for all your furniture in the office.

    covers the transit of goods over water, for example shipping.
    Marine Cargo
    covers the transit of goods via rail, road and air, where the goods cross a border at some point.
    Goods in Transit
    covers loss or damage to goods following fire, collision or overturning of the transporting vehicle, with an all risks extension covering the goods while being loaded and offloaded and during temporary storage.

    covers against injury or damage to the property of patrons to one's establishment.
    Group Personal Accident
    covers employees as a benefit from an employer, kicking in to augment shortfalls in the event of sickness.

    covers losses made against business directors or officers for alleged wrongful acts in their capacity as directors or company officers.
    Product Liability
    covers damages to third party property caused by the insured's assets.
    Employers Liability
    liability for damages and expenses in respect of injury to an employee caused while at their place of work.
    Umbrella Liabilities
    extra cover in excess of underlying limits that the insured becomes legally obligated to pay as damages, by reason of liability assumed because of bodily injury or property damage.

  • Protection for the tobacco crop, from hail and wind in the field to fire, storage and transport after harvest.

    Sub products
    Hail and wind insurance
    designed to protect tobacco growers against losses caused by hailstorms and damaging winds. The policy indemnifies at a specified level of cover per hectare of tobacco, limited to the damage caused through the mechanical action of hail or wind.
    Tobacco Field to Floor
    comprehensive cover that protects the tobacco crop from after harvesting until it is delivered to a tobacco contractor or sales floor, covering risks after reaping including fires in a curing facility, storage and transportation.
  • A school fees guarantee that keeps a child learning if the fee payer dies or is permanently disabled.

    What it carries
    Cover
    a school fees guarantee for the continuity of a child's education in the event of the fee payer's death or permanent disability by either accident or sickness. The sum insured is the remaining fees balance for the child to complete the next milestone of their education, Grade 7 for primary and Form 6 for secondary.
    Claims process
    a very simplified claims process. In the event of an insured peril, the death or permanent disability of the person nominated to pay the school fees, the remaining guardian provides a copy of the documents to the school and fills out a claim form for onward transmission to Sanctuary Insurance Company.
